Newborn

My first newborn photo shoot.

Four-day-old Baby Ella.

Everyone is quite smitten with her.

Thankful

Just a little slideshow of a photo shoot I did with Emma and her friends a few weeks ago. Sadly, the leaves are all down now. A little rain, a little wind and all the golden gorgeousness is gone. Much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Michigan!

Some reasons I love Michigan… in no particular order.

1. Low humidity

2. Lighthouses

3. Sunsets on the beach

4. Cute beach towns

5. The five of us together

6. Summer rentals

7. Kilwin’s fudge and ice cream

8. Black squirrels

9. No saltwater

10. No sharks

Jump!

I’m so behind on posting I don’t know where to start. Here are some fun shots taken on the last day of school almost three weeks ago now.

The girls were pretty happy as you can see. And the grass really is that green from all the rain we’ve had.

Grad Night (21/52)

So much going on here–graduation, last day of school, 500 parade, and grad night. I had a hard time deciding what to share. I hope to put together a video of all the madness since I’ve taken hundreds of pictures in the last few days.

Winners Drink Milk (18/52)

My apologies for no May flowers or Mother’s Day pictures here this week. I spent my Mother’s Day weekend at the Indiana State Band contest.

Our school won for the third year in a row, and my boy–a senior–got to be one of the two representatives to receive the award…

…and drink the ceremonial milk (Contest sponsored by Indiana Dairy Farmers). It’s an Indiana thing–the winner of the Indy 500 also drinks milk in the winner’s circle.

Photographically events like this are a huge challenge for me. And I have a hard drive of fuzzy, grainy, dark pictures to show for my efforts. The red and blue stage lights, although they did add some fun effects in certain shots, were also a challenge. I finally gave up on color and just went with black & white.
